Good Samaritan spoke to emergency services after father who didn’t speak English found daughter, seven, unconscious

Approached by a distraught father who found his daughter dead at home, a Good Samaritan who had been sitting in a coffee shop opposite tried his best to resuscitate her.

Ha Nguyen does not speak English and when his wife had found their seven-year-old daughter unconscious, he ran into Costa in Stroud High Street and thrust his phone into the hand of Joseph Reeve.

Good Samaritan Mr Reeve took the phone to find emergency services on the other end.

Still on the phone, he followed Mr Nguyen back over the road and up two flights of stairs to the flat above Woodruff’s cafe where the family lived. He said saw a girl on the floor by the window motionless.

Following instructions from emergency services he started resuscitation on Trang Nguyen and continued until the paramedics arrived and took over.

Sadly after extensive and advanced life support, Trang was pronounced dead at 2.45pm.
