Learn Spanish, a Free Blog Series – Diary of a Spanglish Girl

by learn a language journalist

I’ve always loved languages. I’ve always loved the feeling of being able to switch to another language. I’m nowhere near the level I want to be, neither am I anywhere close to bilingual. But, I can hold a conversation, I can fix a problem when I need to and I can read Spanish books, magazines and news articles with no problem.

I love to translate and help out. My confidence holds me back. I get nervous and I get self-conscious. Once the confidence is shining, I’ll be well on my way.

I get a lot of messages asking to tutor Spanish and the thing is, I just don’t feel comfortable enough with it. I love speaking Spanish. But, I’m not a native. I’m not bilingual. This is when I came up with the idea of the new blog series.

When I first started learning Spanish, I would’ve loved a go-to place. Somewhere that gave me basic, quick lessons. Quick, useful phrases. Something I could save to my phone and come back to when I needed it.

These posts will all be listed under the Category “Learn Spanish”.

I will try to post bitesize information. Hopefully, it will be of interest to anybody who is looking to holiday, travel, emigrate to a Spanish speaking country, or those who just love languages.

Gracias y hasta luego,

This should not be used as a substitute, but as a complimenting piece of information. Tutoring still remains the best and most effective way to learn a language. Duolingo is a great free app that can also compliment language learning. This is from my own experience and words and dialect may vary.
